The Jewish Community Relations Council educates and advocates issues of vital importance to the Jewish community.    

The JCRC:

  • Fights anti-Semitism and informs the non-Jewish community about Jewish issues.
  • Educates and advocates on behalf of Israel, building support for the Jewish state.
  • Battles discrimination in all forms and builds relationships with the greater Sacramento community.
  • Communicates with the governor, legislators, and members of Congress on issues of importance to Sacramento's Jewish community.
  • Enhances relations with local television radio stations and newspapers to garner support for Jewish community positions and to influence public opinion and policy.
  • Mobilizes the Jewish community to  maximize its power to influence elected officials' actions on public policy issues.
  • Represents the Sacramento Jewish community at civic and interfaith events.
  • Supports Jewish students and faculty in their battle against anti-Semitism and anti-Israel propaganda on campuses.

Recent Activities

Anti-Semitism:  The JCRC successfully pressed KVIE to air the documentary, "Anti-Semitism in the 21st Century: The Resurgence".  More

Human Rights:  The JCRC spearheaded the local battle against genocide in the Darfur.  More

Civil Rights:  The JCRC worked with local coalitions to remove the name of a Nazi sympathizer.  More

Inter-group Relations:  The JCRC hosted the Interfaith Passover Seder.  More

Holocaust Remembrance:  The JCRC sponsored the Annual Yom H'Shoah Memorial Event.  More

Holocaust Education:  The JCRC hosted its annual luncheon for local school district superintendents aimed at supporting Holocaust Education. More

Israel Advocacy:  The JCRC helped bring to Sacramento speakers who documented Anti-Semitic.  More
