Michal Kohane – Executive Director

Michal has been heading the Federation staff since November 2004. She has held numerous leadership roles in the Jewish community of Northern California for the past 20 years, teaching and organizing various programs in education, community building and more. She holds a BA from the University of Haifa, Israel, where she grew up, and two master degrees in Jewish Studies and Education, as well as Clinical Psychology.
Daniel Y. Harris – Campaign Director

Daniel has 10 years of upper-management non-profit experience, including holding the positions of Executive Director of a Jewish Community Center; Assistant Executive Director of an arts organization; and Director of Development of a health and human services organization, as well as 12 years of business experience. He holds a Master of Arts in Divinity from The University of Chicago, was born in Paris, France, and is a published author.
Elissa Provance – Director of Communications and Managing Editor of The Jewish Voice

Elissa has 25 years of writing experience including coverage of local, national, and international news and events. Elissa has won several awards for her writing, beginning with an award from the Society of Professional Journalists in 1988 while she was a graduate student at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, where she received a master's degree in Communications/Journalism, and most recently from the State Information Officers Council in 2008.
Caren Zorman – Director of Education and Special Projects

Caren's primary responsibility at Federation is administrating the Yachad community high school program as well as planning the community's Chanukah celebration and the Jewish Heritage Festival. She has been involved in the Jewish community since relocating from Los Angeles in 1991. Her involvement has ranged from co-chair of Young Leadership Division to President of the Sacramento Jewish Community Center to an executive officer of Mosaic Law Congregation Board of Trustees. She attended both elementary and high school yeshiva in Los Angeles and spent a year working on a religions kibbutz. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs from the George Washington University and is a published author.
Ardyth Sokoler – Program Coordinator, PJ Library

Ardyth Sokoler has been with Federation since 2008 as the Program Coordinator of The PJ Library Program, a literacy program that provides free Jewish books to families with young children. Ardyth is a credentialed teacher and has worked as a teacher and administrator in public school, religious school, and day school settings. Her educational background includes an undergraduate degree in education from Miami University, a master's degree in education from Ohio State University, and a Master's Degree in Jewish Education and Educational Leadership from the University of Judaism.
Elad Lerech – Community Shaliach

Elad has worked as the Community Shaliach in Canton, Ohio. He has experience working with kids and youth in schools and summer camps across the country. Elad was the Director of Marketing for a radio station in Israel where he also hosted four shows of his own and was a music editor. He has a Bachelor's degree with honors and majored in Communications. Elad was born in Haifa, Israel and served in the Israeli army for three years in Tzafed.

Joanna Menorca – Office Manager

Joanna has been with the Federation since February 2001. She holds a BA from the University of Maryland and has served 11 years of active duty in the U.S. Navy, attaining several achievement awards and merits for service overseas. Born in Lagos, Nigeria to British parents, Joanna was well traveled before coming to America at age 10. Joanna brings over 20 years of administrative experience to the Federation, including technical support, software expertise, graphic design and illustration, bookkeeping, program & personnel management and customer service.
